Questions to ask yourself if you are still Unemployed

You have updated your job portal profiles several times, you have appeared in several interviews and, unfortunately, you have failed every time in securing an IT job. If you have been unable to find a job of your choice, you might be committing some of the “Job Hunting Mistakes” mentioned below:

MISTAKE- 1- You are unsure of your Career Choice

There are several job hunters who really don’t know what they want to do for living. They usually decide on the most lucrative industry and start finding a job without any real passion. If you are one of them, it is important to take some time in learning your interests. Identify your ideal job and then start your hunt because employers and staffing companies are very sharp in finding out whether a person is really interested in job.

MISTAKE- 2- You are hunting less

Half-hearted efforts will give you half-hearted results. Experts believe that job hunting is a full-time job. If you’re unemployed, you must consider job hunting as your job and spend your work-hours in contacting people, establishing network and giving interviews.

If you are employed, you must make time for finding a new job. You can work on your resume and interview skills early in the morning and schedule interviews after work.

MISTAKE- 3- You lack Job Preparation

A goal properly set is halfway reached. But many job hunters believe in random hunting. They just keep sending resumes to anyone and everyone. If you are guilty of committing this mistake, you must stop it at once.

First, list your prospective employers. Conduct thorough research and choose a company by considering several factors such as career growth, salary, work environment, etc. Finding a job in this planned manner will ensure job satisfaction.

MISTAKE- 4- You have a Faulty Resume

The right resume opens many doors and the faulty one closes every door. So, make sure that your resume is flawless. Here are few things that you should consider before forwarding your resume to companies:

1.Most recruiters will scan your resume in just a couple of seconds. So, it is important that you use the KISS formula – Keep it Short and Simple.
2. Write an attractive cover letter
3. One size does not fit all. Edit your resume and emphasize on the skills and accomplishments according to the company’s requirements.
4. Highlight your achievements and use keywords & buzzwords related to the job description.
5. If you are changing your career or have limited experience, avoid traditional resume formats and opt for a functional resume that emphasizes achievements instead of experience.
6. Use Times New Roman or any other traditional font if the company is conservative.
7. Proof read

If you are finding it difficult to write an effective resume, you can consult a professional resume writer or take help of a staffing company.

MISTAKE- 5 – You rely on Posted Job Openings Only

Usually, job hunters just check job advertisements in newspapers and online job portals. There are several other options to help you find job quickly such as:

1. Networking
2. IT staffing companies
3. Visiting the company’s website and searching its career section
4. Posting resumes online
5. Cold calling

MISTAKE- 6 – You don’t believe in Networking

You cannot be passive and wait for job opportunities to come to you. You have to meet several people and establish a contact with them. They can help you in securing an interview and put in a good word whenever required.

An average person has to talk to a dozen people before getting the opportunity to talk to the hiring authority. So, don’t be uncomfortable with networking and try to strike a conversation with as many people as possible.

MISTAKE- 7- You have Poor Interview Skills

Go unprepared and sabotage your employment chances! You must be fully prepared for the interview by researching the company’s goals, products, future plans, etc. You can take help of staffing companies that provide interview training. You can also ask a friend or colleague to conduct mock interviews for you. Alternatively, you can read interview tips online and gain confidence.

MISTAKE- 8 – Your Approach is Passive

Employers want proactive not passive employees. There are several things that will suggest your passive approach to the employer. One of them is that you don’t follow-up. You send your resume and simply hope for an interview call. And, even if you get an interview call, you don’t follow-up regularly with the employer and keep on waiting for him to call you. All these are signs of a passive approach. It is important that you keep in touch with the employer in order to keep your name at the top of his list. Remember out of sight is out of mind.

Also keep in mind that you must be regular in follow-up but that doesn’t mean it should be aggressive and become a source of irritation to the employer.

So, these are the “Job Hunting Mistakes” that you should avoid at all costs.

Canuck Nation In A Lather – Changes On The Way!

The recent state of the union address given by Canuck GM Mike Gillis is sure to raise more than a few eyebrows.

His farewell speech before hitting the links with the rest of the Canuck organization did not offer much in the way of surprises but did offer some insight into a few pressing questions that followers of the blue and green have been mulling over since their team’s shocking round one ousting.

Luongo or Schneider?

Gillis’ acknowledgement of Schneider’s ascendance into Number One status should be welcome news to all the Luongo haters who consistently call in to talk radio seeking his release. But as with all armchair quarterbacks, they lack not only the responsibility, but also the sophistication and critical thinking required to make such an important move.

A Luongo trade is severely hampered by two important factors. Primary is his huge salary! Secondary is his trade value.

Louie’s contract ensures that the next team – if there is a next team – will be burdened with a massive 5 million per year salary cap hit over ten years! It is thought that Tampa, Toronto, and Florida may be teams in need of Luongo’s services.

Luongo has added fuel to the trade fire speculation by publicly stating that he would be willing to waive his no trade clause if it was in the best interests of the team. He even went so far as to call Schneider a goalie who just might ‘dominate’ the league for several years.

But what is Lou worth considering he was second fiddle to Schneider during the team’s most critical juncture, the Stanley Cup Playoffs?

Meanwhile, Schneider is indeed in the driver’s seat. He just needs to sit back and weigh his, no doubt, lucrative options. He has earned the right!

Stay or Go Alain Vigneault?

Gillis all but condemned the media – and public – musings about releasing Vigneault. After running down the list of accomplishments of the Canuck’s most winningest coach, including 2 President’s Trophies that weren’t won ‘by accident’, Gillis went on to say that his first order of business was to make sure he himself was going to stay on.

Only after consulting with the Canuck’s Acquilini’s would Gillis be in position to answer whether Vigneault would remain top bench boss. His ringing endorsement of the current coach would make it seem likely Vigneault would return.

However, as much as the Nucks talk about the ‘family’, the only family that matters is the Acquilinis. Their early exit means lost revenues and a pro hockey team is a business, Number One!

So as teams fall out of Lord Stanley’s race, is there any team poised to make the most noise in the hockey off season than the Canucks?

Caregivers Insurance The Benefits Of Health Insurance

Many individuals consider Home Health Care to be an unnecessary luxury when there is insurance for caregivers. However, high-risk auto insurance should not be considered an optional extra; rather it should be regarded as a necessity in your life. There are many different reasons why one would require the service of a caregiver. The most common reason is the high-risk of falling and breaking an ankle or breaking a hip. This type of accident requires immediate medical attention from a high-risk auto insurance policy.

The caregiver’s annual mileage will also have an impact on the auto insurance rates that they pay. The more time that a caregiver works with a patient, the more time that they drive. If the insured is unable to work because of illness or if they are out of town for an extended period of time, they will incur expenses because of the high-risk nature of their position. This is why it is very important to purchase an insurance plan that will cover long-term care if the person becomes unable to work due to a medical condition or if they choose to leave home to live in an assisted living facility.

There are two different types of coverage available; namely, the Personal Medical Insurance Plan and the provincial medical insurance plan. When choosing between these two plans, it is important to determine which one will better meet your needs. Personal medical insurance plans are designed to cover the cost of medication and other necessary medical services while caregivers pay into their own pocket.

Furthermore, the Personal Medical Insurance Plan does not have any provision for long term care. This means that the policy will only provide coverage for the emergency room visit, prescription drugs, hospitalization and the major surgical procedure. While home health aides do not receive the same benefits as the personal medical insurance plan, they do have the advantage of being reimbursed for the prescribed medications and other related services. Although home health aides may be eligible for some wage replacement benefits, there is no provision for professional liability insurance.

In contrast, the provincial medical insurance plan provides coverage for emergency medical services, hospitalization, prescription drugs and all other medical expenses. In addition, home health care aides will be reimbursed for prescribed medications, diagnostic tests and the major surgical procedure. Professional liability insurance also offers financial assistance to individuals who take action to ensure that they are not responsible for actions or omissions of a caregiver. When this type of coverage is purchased by an individual caregiver, it will provide peace of mind to both the caregiver and the family of the person with whom the caregiver interacts. Because this type of coverage will reimburse the caregiver for the service rendered, family members will feel confident that their loved one will be taken care of properly.

Because of the growing complexity of the medical issues faced by patients and caregivers alike, start a home care business in Mississippi workers need access to insurance to ensure that the financial burden does not become too great. The lack of health care causes undue stress on families and their caregivers. For families, the loss of a loved one can lead to depression, anxiety and increased stress throughout the home. For caregivers, the emotional drain of caring for someone else’s needs can lead to burnout and feelings of frustration. Purchasing adequate health insurance for caregivers is a wise investment for everyone.

Insurance For Home Care Health Employed Caregivers

For home care workers who are not employed by an employer, a variety of Insurance for Caregivers plans are available in the state of Tennessee. If you have a family member that needs extra help, you may need to be eligible for an Insurance for Caregivers plan, as well. If you run your own business, a Home Care Proposals form can be completed to determine if you are eligible for reimbursement from your insurer. You should contact your local Department of Insurance for more information on Home Insurance for Caregivers. If you’re self-employed or run your own home care business, you can purchase a policy from the state of Tennessee directly from an insurance company or broker or from the companies listed below.

There are two basic forms of coverage available to a home care recipient: an annual mileage cover and a liability cover. An annual mileage cover is calculated based on the estimated drive time for each caregiver. This calculation is done based on the average miles driven by the caregiver and the estimated distance between the residence and the workplace. In order to calculate your annual mileage correctly, it’s recommended that you contact the insurer directly, so you can obtain your policy at a more accurate figure. This option may be available to you through your auto insurance rates, some people willing to start a home care business in Tennessee. They can also start through this method.

Liability covers are designed to protect the individual being transported by the caregiver from accidents and/or damage. This type of policy may be required by the state in which you live in order to qualify for a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan in Tennessee. While in some cases, the liability limit may be increased by the caregiver, generally this limit is $1 million per accident. Depending on the insurer you use, you may also be allowed up to one accident and no more than two caregivers with a combined amount of annual mileage.

Uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage is designed to protect the individual being transported by the caregiver from losses incurred due to an uninsured driver’s accident. This may include a driver who is at fault but does not have sufficient coverage to pay for medical expenses that exceed the limits of the policy. A high-risk auto insurance rate for these types of caregivers may be applied if the policyholder is found at fault for another vehicle accident in which the policyholder is not insured.

If you’re a caregiver and you’re in need of auto insurance, you can contact one of several professional indemnity providers. These indemnity companies work with a network of independent contractors who will review your case and provide you with a quote based on your particular situation. Some of these auto insurance companies even offer claims processing and adjuster services free of charge, although these depend on the insurer you work with.

Although there are other types of coverage that may be appropriate for transporting clients and/or care workers, most people prefer to use a car insurance policy. If you’re a skilled nanny or caregiver, however, it’s important that you check out a comprehensive auto insurance policy. It’s always safer to be prepared in case of an accident. Even if you’re just transporting clients, it’s advisable to find a comprehensive policy so you don’t end up struggling financially if something untoward happens.
